About Gopi Talav
A sacred lake near Dwarka associated with the legends of Lord Krishna and the Gopis.
Gopi Talav is a sacred lake located approximately 20 kilometres from Dwarka and is associated with the traditional legends of Lord Krishna and the Gopis.
According to local tradition, the area is connected with the Gopis who came to meet Lord Krishna. The site is also known for its distinctive yellow-coloured sacred soil, commonly called Gopi Chandan, which devotees traditionally use for applying tilak.
The peaceful surroundings of the lake provide a different experience from the busy temples of central Dwarka. Gopi Talav is generally visited as part of a wider sightseeing route covering Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, Bet Dwarka and other attractions outside the main city.
The site is particularly suitable for travellers interested in Krishna traditions, pilgrimage and the cultural heritage of Dwarka.
